Music
I play keyboard, alto saxophone, and modular synthesizers. My musical background is fairly weird: mostly self-taught guitar and keyboard, first explorations of electronic music, then classical training and piano lessons in college, then years of no music (grad school), then rediscovery of electronics and synthesizers, eventually Eurorack, and most recently (since 2021), picking up the saxophone.
Argyle Torah
A duet formation with multi-instrumentalist Aaron Pond. Aaron and I started making music together in 2019: I introduced him to the joys of modular synthesis, and he showed me how to improvise. From these encounters, and from our ongoing musical-philosophical-spiritual exchange, Argyle Torah emerged. (Among the name's multiple meanings is a Star Trek-related anagram. See if you can guess it!) It started with Aaron on voice (singing, speaking, and making other noises) and me on modular synthesizer, but it has evolved to encompass a musical smorgasbord of all the things we play.
